Welcome!
If you’re a Children’s Ministry or Next Gen Ministry leader who’s looking for practical tips and encouragement so that you can create a thriving and impactful ministry to the next generation, you’re in the right place!
Meet Kathie Phillips
My family and I live in Baltimore, Maryland, where I serve as the Senior Director of Next Gen Ministry at Central Presbyterian Church. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling, walking, reading, and watching episodes of my favorite TV show, the original Beverly Hills, 90210.
About this Blog
I have served in some capacity of Children’s Ministry since the age of 13. I started this blog in 2012 to offer practical tips and inspiration to other ministry leaders, especially those who may not have had big budgets or a network of other leaders to brainstorm with. I wanted them to feel seen and know that the work they were doing had value.
Since its birth, my blog has been recognized several times as one of the top 100 kidmin blogs. Other contributions have included Kidology’s Bright Ideas, which was released in September 2014. In September 2017, my first book was published. I am also a freelance contributor for Grow Kids Children’s Ministry curriculum as well as David C. Cook curriculum.
In addition, my work has been published at FourFiveSix.org, preteenministry.net, churchleaders.com, kidzmatter.com and Children’s Ministry Magazine.
In 2021, my breadth of ministry knowledge and experience expanded into the Next Gen (Birth – 12th Grade) space as well.
Here we’ll talk about:
Ministry in real life – the wins, challenges, and behind-the-scenes moments of ministry life
Practical ministry tips – creative, easy-to-implement ideas
Encouragement – ministry is hard; don’t just survive – thrive!
Next Gen leadership – break silos and collaborate!
Thank so much for being here – let’s link arms for the Kingdom!
