Welcome!
If you’re a Children’s Ministry or Next Gen Ministry leader who’s looking for practical tips and encouragement so that you can create thriving and impactful ministry to the next generation, you’re in the right place!
Started in 2012, KidMinspiration is designed to provide practical tips and inspiration to Children’s Ministry and Next Gen Ministry leaders. I write about leadership & ministry basics, programming, and my life as a leader (of both our Children’s Ministry program and our Next Gen staff team).
Meet Kathie Phillips
I have served in some capacity of Children’s Ministry since the age of 13. I am passionate about Children’s Ministry and feel confident that my life’s work is Children’s & Next Gen Ministry. Three specific areas of ministry form the basis of the work God has called me to:
*I am passionate about helping children love and follow Jesus.
*I am passionate about equipping and empowering volunteers who share my passion and feel called to serve the next generation.
*I am passionate about .
Over the years, I have served in both volunteer and paid staff leadership roles. In addition, I have been privileged to lead numerous Children’s Ministry workshops locally (in the Baltimore/Washington, DC area) and nationally.
In addition to KidMinspiration, my work has been published at FourFiveSix.org, preteenministry.net, churchleaders.com, kidzmatter.com and Children’s Ministry Magazine.
Since its birth, my blog has been recognized several times as one of the top 100 kidmin blogs. Other contributions have included Kidology’s Bright Ideas, which was released in September 2014. In September 2017, my first book was published. I am also a freelance contributor for Grow Kids Children’s Ministry curriculum as well as David C. Cook curriculum.
My Family & Hobbies
My family and I live in Baltimore, Maryland, where I serve as the Senior Director of Next Gen Ministry at Central Presbyterian Church. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling, walking, reading, and watching episodes of my favorite TV show, the original Beverly Hills, 90210.
Disclaimers: The opinions expressed in this blog are my own and are not necessarily those of Central Presbyterian Church. Any personal stories from my ministry context will not include identifying information.
